As a key model in Cat's K Series, it represents a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the 980H, featuring a new engine, load-sensing hydraulics, and a completely redesigned cab .
\uD83D\uDE9C Powerful and Efficient Powertrain
The 980K is powered by the Cat C13 ACERT engine, designed to meet Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emission standards . It utilizes an advanced ADEM 4 electronic control module and a high-pressure MEUI-C fuel system for a clean, efficient combustion . The engine is paired with an optional lock-up clutch torque converter which, when activated in 2nd through 4th gears, operates like a direct-drive system to significantly improve performance and fuel efficiency during load-and-carry applications and on ramps .
